Reading the World: Storytelling from Page to Screen
This year's theme is "Film and Television Literature". It will feature a curated selection of literary works and books related to the film and television industries. This includes screen adaptations of literary works, drama scripts, writings on film culture, and film criticism.The selection aims to encourage explorations of cross-textual reading, which will nourish readers' minds and bring greater reading pleasure.
Film and Television Literature Writers
This year, the fair features six Film and Television Literature writers including Joyce Chan, Chiang Hiu Mei, Law Kar, Erica Li, Raymond To and Norris Wong. In addition to displaying their creative works, numerous seminars will also be conducted during the book fair to allow readers to appreciate their works from different perspectives.
International Writers Gather at Book Fair
The fair features eight seminar series including “Theme of the Year – Film and Television Literature”, “World of Knowledge”, “Hong Kong Cultural and Historical”, “English and International Reading”, “Lifestyle”, “Personal Development and Spiritual Growth”, “Children and Youth Reading”, and “Renowned Writers” seminar series.
In collaboration with Ming Pao Daily News and Asia Weekly, the Hong Kong Book Fair continues to invite renowned writers from Mainland China, Taiwan and Hong Kong to speak at a series of seminars ” including Jin Yucheng, Su Tong, Ban Yu , etc. The “English and International Reading’ seminar series also features international writers including Christopher Cowell, Kim Ho-yeon and Narisapongse Rakwattananont, and among others.
